Obrist Engineering's booth at the Virtual Trade Show
Austrian manufacturer Obrist Engineering will showcase its R744 (CO2) products for mobile air conditioning and heat pumps, as well as for supermarket applications, at the Virtual Trade Show Tuesday and Wedesday. The company also produces propane (R290) heat pumps and ammonia (NH3) compressors.

Obrist’s R744 mcompressor for is used in mobile air conditioning, heat pump and dual AC/heat pump systems; Suited for the Daimler Mercedes S-Class AC system, it features “outstanding compressor efficiency and best-in-class COPs, low pulsation level with 8-piston design and best-in-class mechanical seal design for low leakage,” according to Obrist.
Obrist’s R744 heat pump with ecompressor has “excellent cooling and heating capacity,” said Obrist. In an electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the R744 heat pump has a “significantly higher” heat pump COP than a PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater, the company added.
Obrist also offers an R290 compact heat pump for mobile air conditioning, with a charge amount below 150g. “The compact system is easy and simple to package in the vehicle, said Obrist.
