Italian multinational CAREL is gearing up to present an extended range of natural refrigerant control solutions at Chillventa.

Keen to tap into market demand for easy-to-use HVAC&R solutions, Italian multinational CAREL is gearing up to present its Internet of Things-related (IoT) services at Chillventa.

The show, held in the German city of Nuremberg every two years, is the world’s largest HVAC&R tradeshow. This year’s edition is taking place on 16-18 October.

“New technologies and new business models are leading to machines now being evaluated not only for the performance they generate, but also for the information they provide,” said CAREL ahead of the show.

“For this reason, CAREL has created a working team devoted entirely to the development of IoT-related services,” the firm said.

At Chillventa, CAREL will present APPLICA, a mobile app for the latest generation of smart controllers “with integrated NFC and Bluetooth connectivity, for installers and maintenance personnel”

APPLICA can be used to manage CAREL’s new controllers for retail refrigeration units, including μCHILLER (a solution for the complete management of chillers and heat pumps) and Heez (a solution for refrigerated merchandisers).

CAREL will also present the ‘DC Cella’ system for use with CO2 systems in cold rooms, “to minimise installation times and complexity”.

Extended range of modulating ejectors

The Italian mutlinational’s extended range of ‘EmJ’ modulating ejectors, meanwhile, helps to bring transcritical systems to all store formats. The EmJ’s fundamental feature is the continuous modulation ensured by the ejectors, which via dedicated control algorithms allow the system to continuously adapt to a refrigeration system’s typical variations in operating conditions.

CAREL will also present the latest version of its Heos sistema, which is compatible with natural refrigerants. The Heos sistema is a new way of developing refrigeration systems comprising plug-in cabinets featuring simple on-board refrigeration units with DC inverter compressors.

It offers energy efficiency improvements; direct cabinet temperature control; fast installation; and flexible design.

The Hecu sistema control solution for high-efficiency CO2 condensing units with DC inverter technology, meanwhile, was widened to low-temperature applications at EuroShop 2017.
