Calibration Technologies Inc. becomes Bronze Partner on R744

The manufacturer of gas detection systems for commercial and industrial refrigeration using CO2 is now a Partner.

Calibration Technologies Incorporated (CTI), a specialist in controls for CO2 detection systems for commercial and industrial refrigeration using CO2, has become a Bronze Partner of this website for the first time.

CTI is based in the United States and currently does most of its business there, but this changing. “10% of our business is currently selling outside of the US but that number is increasing. […] We’re growing so fast – it’s really exciting around here,” said Jason Mueske, director of sales and marketing at CTI.

At present, most of CTI’s CO2 gas detection systems are installed in the cold storage industry. “I would only be speculating at this point but we’re starting to see more retail stores move in the direction [of CO2] in the last few years,” Mueske told R744.com.

The company is keen to stress the ease of installing its detectors. “The only challenge is optimizing sensor performance in very cold freezers, as we’ve designed our sensors for -50°F (-45.5°C) freezers,” Mueske said.

The company is working very hard on its R&D. “I would expect next generations of our CO2 gas detection product line to improve in many aspects,” he predicted.

The 14-year-old company has seen much of its R&D work pay off already. “While we never like to hear about refrigerant gas leaks, it’s always satisfying to hear that our sensor caught a leak early and prevented a potential catastrophe,” he explained.

“Some of the most inhospitable environments you can think of are where we confidently install our products every day,” he added. The GG sensors, which work with CO2, can work in ice, heat, blast freezers, EMI-RFI, chemical washdown, high-pressure hose hits and continuous extreme temperature swings (from -50°F to 150°F (60°C)).
