Registration for 2012 Gustav Lorentzen Conference is now open

The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) has opened the registration for the 10th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants, to be held on 25 - 27 June 2012 in Delft, Netherlands. Registrants can benefit from an early fee until 15 April 2012.

The 10th edition of the biennial IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference organised by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the Delft University of Technology and the Royal Dutch Association of Refrigeration will focus on natural refrigerants, real alternatives, the latest research results and advances related to the use of natural working fluids in refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps and other applications.

R744.com will be reporting live from the conference. In addition, the participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the industry platform, policy or industry developments at the R744.com booth.

Conference highlights

The 2-day conference will open on 25 June and participants will have the opportunity to discuss and learn about the latest research results and advances related to the use of natural working fluids in different types of systems and application areas. The keynote speakers will include:

  • Predag Hrnjak (USA, University of Illinois) – “Research advances related to Natural Refrigerants”
  • Andy Pearson (UK, Star Refrigeration Ltd) – “Market success of Natural Refrigerants”
  • Alberto Cavallini (Italy, University of Padua) – “Heat transfer and pressure drop of Natural Refrigerants in mini-channels”
  • Ekkes Bruck (NL, Delft University of Technology) – “Magnetic refrigeration for industrial applications”

Moreover, Nina Burhenne, Head of Market Research at shecco will be presenting latest market trends, developments and projections for CO2 and other natural refrigerants in Europe and North America.

The conference will be followed by a number of technical tours on 28 June. Participants can choose one of the following:

  • Training centre natural refrigerants PTC+ Ede
  • CO2 freezing and cooling plant Klaas Puul in Volendam
  • Prevesco BV in Waalwijk
  • Ice rink Sportboulevard in Dordrecht
  • Visit to museum Boerhaave and the Kamerlingh Onnes building in Leiden
