EPTA’s dedicated CO2 training centre

As demand for CO₂ refrigeration technology continues to grow, so too does the need for CO₂ training. Addressing this demand is Epta, who every year organises courses to train refrigeration professionals from around the world on pumped, cascade and transcritical CO₂ plants, as well as heat recovery, at the Epta CO₂ training centre in England.

Epta’s state of the art CO₂ training centre, located in Bradford, was set up in 2009 to ensure engineers throughout the industry had the necessary skills to support the widespread adoption of CO₂ as a refrigerant. The centre was accepted as a City & Guilds approved training centre in 2010. Two City and Guilds approved assessors man the centre. Today more than 680 professionals have been trained successfully.

Fully equipped CO₂ centre training courses

Courses at the Epta centre are taught by a number of tutors who can deliver the courses in a multitude of languages. The dedicated CO₂ centre training centre offers the following courses:

Epta service course: theory and practical training on maintaining pumped systems, transcritical boosters systems and cascade systems.
Epta CO₂ appreciation course: training on the basic principles of using CO₂ as a refrigerant, the basic types of CO₂ systems and the health and safety aspects of working with CO₂.
City & Guilds 6187-31 CO₂ Service & Maintenance: training on basic principles, CO₂ systems, risk assessment, and practical work on transcritical, cascade and pumped systems.
