VFD debuts with CO2 condensing unit from Reftronix.
Coolvert VFD
U.K.-based Invertek Drives Ltd introduced its Coolvert variable frequency drive (VFD) at the Chillventa trade show in Nuremberg, Germany, this week, alongside a new CO2 condensing unit controller from Danish company Reftronix ApS.
Invertek calls the Coolvert “one of the smallest [VFDs] in its class, providing OEMs with opportunities to reduce panel space and lower machine costs.” The VFD also has one of thewidest ambient operating temperature range in its class, between -20oC to +60oC, said Invertek.
Invertek and Reftronix originally announced their plans for Chillventa in August.
Coolvert is compatible with all motor types, including induction motors, permanent magnet motors, brushless DC motors, synchronous reluctance motors and Line Start PM motors ranging between 1.5kW to 11kW, 2HP to 15HP, said Invertek. It has single and three-phase input of 200V to 480V.
“Coolvert’s wide voltage and power range and open RS485 Modbus serial port allows the OEM to seamlessly connect any manufacturer’s application controller to the drive,” said Mike Carmen, International Business Development Manager at Invertek.
