Kavlico's newly released sensor is the optimal choice for a fast and reliable temperature and pressure sensing in R744 Mobile Air Conditioning systems. The product is based on an innovative thin film technology withstanding high media temperature.
With a high operating pressure of 0-150 bar and a over pressure of 300 bar, Kavlico’s newest sensor is especially suited for the demanding application of high-pressure CO2 air conditioning. Featuring a high accuracy and short response times, it works reliably in ambient temperatures of up to 135°C. Its sense element is based on patented TiON (Titanium OxyNitride) thin film technology able to resist high media temperature of up to 330°C and a pressure range of 10 to -3,000 bar.
While providing long-term stability through its rugged design, Kavlico’s sensor features the smallest possible thread interface and less part complexity, thereby allowing for a reduced package size. The integrated temperature pick-up as part of the pressure sensor element reduces the risk of medium leakage. Moreover, the sensor’s tolerance of high vibration levels, its built-in polarity protection and over-voltage protection ensures a safe operation at all conditions. The new sensing element together with high electronic integration allows Kavlico to offer a cost-effective sensor.
The P/T sensor is based on Kavlico’s experience with pressure transducers and tests of R744 on test vehicles. After intensive development of TiON strain gage sensors, Kavlico can now offer a product incorporating innovative materials and latest technologies.
