Excellent operation in CO2 applications with new Danfoss pressure transmitter

At Chillventa 2014 in Nuremburg, Germany, Danfoss Industrial Automation will introduce a new high-pressure sensor, the MBS 8250, specially designed for use in food retail applications to ensure excellent operation of refrigeration systems using natural refrigerant CO₂ and even lower the total cost of ownership.

Danfoss Industrial Automation, a recognised and trusted manufacturer of components, is introducing a new high-pressure sensor, the MBS 8250, which has been specifically developed for use in supermarkets using CO₂ refrigeration systems. The new sensor supplements Danfoss’ already broad refrigeration product portfolio.

CO₂ is becoming an established refrigeration solution for larger stores, a trend fuelled by the coolant’s outstanding thermodynamic performance, taxes on HFCs, reductions in system size and an increased environmental consciousness of retailers and consumers alike.

The Danfoss MBS 8250 pressure sensor is designed specially for use in the demanding field of CO₂ supermarket refrigeration, where control of the discharge pressure is an important parameter in optimising a transcritical CO₂ system.

The MBS 8250 has been tested thoroughly to ensure excellent operation in CO₂ applications, proving effective monitoring of the high-pressure side in a CO₂ transcritical cycle and reliability in pressure measurement.
