Carrier Corp. signed an agreement with German food retailer tegut to supply 50 of its stores with sustainable and energy efficient CO2OLtec refrigeration systems. This is expected to yield up to 50 percent energy savings and a substantial reduction in greenhouse gases.
As a leader in heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, the Carrier Corp. is partnering up with the German food retailer tegut to install highly efficient CO2 refrigeration systems. The agreement is expected to yield up to 50 percent energy savings and a substantial reduction in greenhouse gases by 3500 metric tons each year, equivalent to removing approximately 1900 cars from the road.
The contract between tegut and Carrier extends through 2012 and includes remodeling and the supply of new stores with 50 sustainable and energy efficient CO2OLtec refrigeration systems. The service of the installations will be provided through Carrier’s European e*Service remote monitoring center.

It is essential to not only look at the use of substances, but also at the resulting contamination and negative impact on the environment. Carrier’s CO2OLtec refrigeration technology, based on CO2 as a natural refrigerant, meets both requirements and will therefore support us in achieving our goals.”
