Description

  • Stepper motor driven pressure-regulating valve
  • Molded as gas cooler valve, doubles as a flash gas bypass valve
  • Designed specifically for transcritical CO2 applications
  • Replaceable/serviceable screen (GC Series)

Basic specifications

  • Permanent magnet bipolar
  • Phase Current 275 mA (using current limited/chopper drive)
  • MOPD GC: 90 bar (1305 psid), FGB: 50 bar (725 psid)
  • Fluid Temperature Range -40°C to 115°C (-40°F to 239°F)
  • Ambient Temperature Range -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F)
  • Internal (wet) motorHigh resolution actuators with 2500 steps
  • 7.25 second full-stroke actuation
  • Rated for 140 barg (2030 psig) maximum working pressure
  • Possess a 7.25 second full stroke actuation
  • Open design: Can be driven through a 0-10V or 4-20 mA interface
  • Driven by Parker Sporlan PSD4 Interface Board and PSS4B Backup Power Module

Gas cooler/Flash gas bypass valves

  • GC -10, -20, -30, -40 and -50 applicable as gas cooler/holdback valves but can also be applied as flash gas bypass valves
  • The FGB -60 and -70 are specifically designed to extend the range of the GC family when applied as flash gas bypass valves

GC valve construction

  • The valve family can be broken into two distinct pieces: the bodies and the cartridge assemblies
  • Valve bodies are available with three connection sizes: ½ inch (12.7mm), ¾
  • inch (19.05 mm) and 1 inch (25.4 mm)
  • The three bodies are compatible with all cartridge assemblies

FGB valve construction

  • Unlike the GC family, the port is not integrated into the stepper motor actuator assembly, but mounted directly into the valve body
  • Single body valve available 1 inch (25.4mm)
  • Valve is installed in the low pressure side of the system allowing it to utilise a 1-1/8 inch (28.58 mm) ODF or 1-3/8 inch (34.93 mm) ODM braze joint

Advantages

  • Customised pin and port combinations to provide excellent full range flow control
  • Interchangeable bodies with flexible connections
  • Tight seating capability
  • Feature synthetic seat discs to ensure tight shutoff

Application

  • Designed specifically for CO2 transcritical systems
