Carrier, which develops innovative solutions for commercial refrigeration with CO2, has decided to become Gold Partner on R744.com.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, a part of Carrier, global leader of innovative HVAC, refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies, has become a Gold Partner on r744.com.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is a leading supplier of high-efficiency turnkey refrigeration systems and services in the food retail industry. The company is committed to improving refrigeration through sustainable products and processes.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration sees CO2 as the most promising refrigerant of the future. A pioneer in sustainable technologies, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration provides a wide range of natural refrigerant solutions operating within each climate zone and for almost any application – from small retail stores to large supermarkets, distribution centres, and industrial applications.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration reached a major milestone in their business this year, celebrating the delivery of “dix-mille” (ten thousand) CO2 mechanical systems. This is a huge accomplishment for Carrier as they are the first European manufacturer to reach this milestone.

The company’s research on R744 started during the mid 1990s. In 2004, Carrier installed its first transcritical CO2 system in a Swiss hypermarket. The technology was thoroughly tested and commercially introduced as CO2OLtec in 2009. According to Carrier, the system improves energy efficiency by up to 10% and reduces the carbon footprint by 50%, compared to an R404A-based system. The product won RAC magazine’s 2008 Cooling Industry Award.

Carrier is able to offer a comprehensive portfolio of next-generation products. These comprise refrigerated cabinets, freezers, counters, systems and controls that maximize merchandising opportunities while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
