With 13 CO2 refrigeration systems already operating reliably, Germany’s biggest discount supermarket plans to make CO2 a refrigerant of choice to phase out HFCs earlier than scheduled by the EU. The announcement comes after a UK survey harshly criticised Aldi for its refusal to disclose any details about its use of natural refrigerants in Great Britain.
