In February, Lennox will launch a new CO2 condensing unit for small supermarket in capacities of 2-10 kW, Aurélie Pagès, the firm’s marketing and product manager (EMEA), told this website.

“We’ve been present in the market with our selection of racks for big hypermarkets and supermarkets since 2015,” said Pagès, explaining that the new condensing unit would complement this by responding to demand from food retailers for technologies that can serve smaller stores too.

Pagès was speaking alongside her colleague Daniel Torres at the Sifa tradeshow in Lyon, France last November, where the company introduced its new range of CO2 units for shops and small supermarkets.

“We tell our customers that there are no bad technologies,” said Torres, sales engineering manager for CO2 and low-GWP solutions.

“Some are more expensive and more technologically advanced than others, therefore depending on location, we propose to our customers simple solutions that can improve system efficiency,” he explained.

With food retailers opening new stores in smaller city-centre locations where space is at a premium, Torres stressed the need to offer adaptable solutions that are easily accessible to installation and maintenance technicians.
