Denmark-based HB Products has recently developed a new 'zero super-heat control' vapor quality sensor for CO2 systems, named HBX-CO2-CU-XX.

In an interview with German cooling magazine 'KKA 2017', Michael Elstroem, technical director at HB Products, said about the sensor: "Because CO2 is a very dynamic refrigerant where phase change is rapid, the vapor quality measurement ensures a more homogenous, accurate and fast control without the influence from pressure and temperature fluctuations."

The system consists of an 'X' vapor quality sensor with integrated valve control and universal stepper-motor driver, including cable for direct valve connection.

The system is also available in 120 bar high pressure copper type K65 or stainless steel with pre-programmed settings for all commonly used refrigerants, including CO2.
