Danfoss now offers hands-on CO2 training programmes in a number of different formats as a value added service for its customers and their network, as well as a variety of CO2 dedicated eLessons in up to 9 languages. A recent training programme at KHLim for Danfoss’ customer Cofely Axima met with 100% positive feedback and very strong recommendations.

In line with its overall commitment towards environmental sustainability, Danfoss offers training programmes focused on the natural refrigerant CO2. Courses include comprehensive lectures as well as hands on learning led by expert level instructors. One of the added highlights of the courses is that they also serve as networking opportunities, as participation is offered to direct Danfoss customers, as well as their clients.

These training sessions are not only for external participants. Danfoss also offers the courses internally to help employees increase their knowledge to an expert level. This includes the CO2 Champion Program, which allows Danfoss employees to upgrade their competencies. US based Champion, Keith Baughman, for example, offers one day CO2 brush-up training in Baltimore, with the possibility of on-site training within the US.

Currently, courses are available in Denmark and Belgium and scheduled on a rolling basis depending on demand. From 2015 onwards, courses will be available in several new locations.  Danfoss also offers training jointly with other companies in the refrigeration industry, for example, with GEA Bock GmbH, at their Frickenhausen training center in southern Germany.

Testimonials

A recent training at the Limburg Catholic University College (KHLim) for Danfoss’ customer Cofely Axima received 100% positive feedback. Participants felt that the training was very relevant to their current job. Both the course material and the instructors were given high evaluations. Responding to a question about which part of the course was particularly appreciated, participants provide the following feedback:

  • “The CO2 installations made it very interesting and instructive.”
  • “I don’t think that this course could be much improved.”
  • “It was very easy to ask questions…interesting to do some practical exercises like uploading a cooler, pump or filter.”

Meet the experts

Danfoss experts with front row industry experience in CO2 technology and developments support all training sessions. One such expert is Kenneth Bank Madsen, a co-instructor for the training sessions. Madsen previously worked at the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) and also contributed to the development of the first modern retail CO2 systems.

One of the main features that differentiate Danfoss’ CO2 training sessions from other programmes is that the training is conducted with the help of external partners. This includes educational institutions such as Limburg Catholic University College (KHLim) and the Technical College of Jutland (DjH), which provide both instructors for the lessons and equipment for participants to practice on. By involving different educational institutions, Danfoss was able to develop one of the most comprehensive CO2 training programmes available on the market.

eLessons and more

In addition to classroom-based lectures, Danfoss provides participants the opportunity to prepare for and follow up on the course with self-study eLessons available 24/7 in up to 9 languages, as well as installation videos and animations.

  • Module 1 – Introduction (available in 9 languages)
  • Module 2 – System understanding (available in 7 languages)
