Henry Technologies launch new products for transcritical CO2 systems

Henry Technologies recently launched a new range of products suitable for transcritical CO2 systems. The new high pressure relief valve 5701AX is specifically designed for high pressure applications from 46 barg up to 130 barg and in particular, transcritical CO2 systems. Also available is the new range of high pressure oil management controls, with a maximum working pressure of up to 130 barg, comprising oil separators, oil separator-reservoir and oil reservoirs.

High Pressure Relief valve 5701AX

The 5701AX relief valve has been developed with the extensive use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a simulation and design tool. This has allowed Henry Technologies to fine-tune the flow characteristics of the valve and ensure the optimum solution has been met to provide efficient, reliable and robust performance. In addition, the new valve complies with EN ISO 4126, offering the end-user the main advantage that in the event of a discharge occurring, the relief valve will close again within 15% of the set pressure. The valve therefore retains a large proportion of the system charge compared to an uncertified valve which may reset at as low as 50% of the set pressure.

The 5701AX is suitable for:
  • Operating temperatures of - 40°C to +120°C
  •  COand other refrigerant gases

Oil Management Controls

Also available is Henry Technologies’ new range of high pressure oil management controls: oil separators, oil separator-reservoir and oil reservoirs.  The main characteristics of the new products  are:
  • Available in two sizes: 6.0 litres and 11.0 litres
  • Clear sight glasses
  • Oil level sensor port
  • Helical design
  • Made from carbon steel
  • Maintenance free

The helical design oil separators have a tangential inlet connection to aid the flow path around the helical flighting. This results in a high level of oil separation efficiency. Independent laboratory testing has established oil separation efficiency of up to 97%.
About Henry Technologies

Henry Technologies has considerable experience in engineering CO2-suitable products, and has developed a range of R744 refrigeration parts such as ball valves, pressure relief valves, shut-off valves, pressure indicator switches, as well as oil separators, oil level regulators and oil reservoirs. A global provider of CO2 technologies since 2004, Henry Technologies, UK, has supplied thousands of products for CO2 sub-critical installations across Europe, the USA and most recently South Africa.
