Boost performance of electronic expansion valves with Danfoss&rsquo; new Electronic Coil Controller

Leading solutions supplier Danfoss is presenting its new EEC Electronic Coil Controller designed to optimise the performance of expansion valves in food retail systems. With the growing trend of CO₂ systems in food retail there has been a need for the AKVH electronic expansion valves to overcome higher differential pressures, and to operate with low liquid subcooling. As an added benefit, the EEC provides operating cost savings while reducing noise.

Designed for long-term operating cost savings and to help prolong the life of standard expansion devices in refrigerated food display cabinets, Danfoss has introduced the EEC Electronic Coil Controller. Other product features include noise level reduction and high robustness.

Overcoming differential pressure and energy savings

The EEC Electronic Coil Controller helps overcome high differential pressure in 230VAC systems using a 100VDC coil. By providing a short over-boost while the connector supplies only high power to the coil to initiate opening, the amount of energy needed to keep the valve open is reduced to a fraction of what otherwise would be used, which leads to energy savings.

Thanks to the ADAPKOOL technology, the AK-CC range of controllers can be used together with the EEC to provide optimised system suction pressure.
