Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has provided the German retailer Handelshof Cash & Carry with its sustainable and energy efficient CO2OLtecTM refrigeration solution as well as a fully integrated high efficiency heat recovery system. The refrigeration system will enable the retailer to significantly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from the store, which is set to open its doors in September.
Aspiring to implement their corporate plan for sustainability and environmental safety also in the field of refrigeration systems for their new store in Hamm, Germany, the retailer opted for a natural refrigerant solution and partnered with CO2 specialist Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.

Energy savings and subsidies
CO2OLtec allows Handelshof to realise energy cost savings over the full lifetime of the refrigeration system. In addition, the retailer benefits from investment subsidies given by the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), while avoiding any refrigerant taxes and reducing its impact on global warming.
