The leading supplier of refrigeration solutions is introducing its new generation of ADAP-KOOL® injection systems for CO2 evaporators. The new Danfoss injection system makes it easier to design and commission CO2 systems, thus bringing CO2 faster to the market.

In order to facilitate the use of CO2, and the exploitation of the full potential of the refrigerant, Danfoss has developed a new generation of ADAP-KOOL® injection systems for CO2 evaporators. The system includes the electronic controller AK-CC 550A, the electronic expansion valve AKVH as well as pressure transducers and temperature sensors.

The AK-CC 550A electronic controller includes an algorithm to ensure a very fast reaction to sudden superheat change, one of the CO2 challenges, especially in evaporators not fully adapted for CO2. Another CO2 challenge is high pressure at standstill position and in some cases high differential pressure over expansion valves for high temperature cases. Danfoss’ AKVH valves can cope with both tasks. The valves have a MWP of 90 Bar and maximum pressure differential up to 35 bar. Extremely fast reaction time is another important feature of AKV valves when compared to other expansion technologies.

Electronic controller AK-CC 550A: The AK-CC 550 is a flexible case/room controller. It features energy optimisation of the complete case and predefined application types for quick adaptation to different cases or cold room setups. The controller is a complete refrigeration appliance control with great flexibility to adapt to all types of refrigeration appliances and cold storage rooms.

Basic specifications AK-CC 550A:
  • Supply volt: 230 V
  • Frequency: 50/60 Hz
  • Power consumption: 5,0 VA
  • Energy optimisation of the whole refrigeration appliance
  • One controller for several different refrigeration appliances
  • Built-in data communication
Electronic expansion valve AKVH: The AKVH 10 is an electronically operated valve for high-pressure applications designed for refrigerating plants using R744 refrigerant.

Basic specifications AKVH:
  • Capacity range refrigeration applications: 0.4 kW to 11 kW
  • Capacity range freezing applications: 0.8 kW to 22 kW
  • Inlet size: 3/8 in
  • MWP: 90 bar
  • MOPD: 35 bar/psi
  • Extremely fast reaction time
